I hope this is something that will be fixed next game. There are many more reasons, but I think I have made my point. They would rather fight 3 factions at once than consider a trade agreement. Most seem more bent on their own wholesale slaughter than actually diplomacy. I don’t have the population to continually purchase new troops, again, doesn’t effect the AI. How are they supporting their 3 armies? Again, it removes any semblance of strategy. Apollonia constant launches attacks at me, despite having one city, consisting of -6 food. Eventually your army is whittled down until you can’t reinforce it in time.įood doesn’t seem to effect them. Not only does it make battles feel meaningless, but it ruins the game a slog of constant battle, there’s no real strategy when your enemy seems to have no consequences for defeat.

Just when you staved off an attack your hit with another full stack at full health. A single city state can sustain a full two stack of units. This includes food, money, population, or anything of the factors I have to consider when making an effective faction. The AI don’t abide by any of the games rules.

But instead I was hit with the same nonsense I have come to expect with this game. I went into the experience expecting more precise battles, more meaningful engagements, where the wholesale destruction of a stack meant a bit of breathing room. I recently decided to try out DEI, after months of fighting fullstacks, I figured it was time for a change.
